DENTAL IMPLANTS

In contemporary aesthetic and functional dentistry, dental implants are simply inevitable procedures for the treatment of toothlessness (anodontia) and chewing system disorders.

Implants are produced out of titanium. It is a biocompatible material, which means that the organism does not perceive it as a foreign object and has no negative (allergic or toxic) reaction to it.

With these titanium implants, we replace the root of the lost tooth.

They can replace one or more lost teeth and serve as tooth crowns or bridge carriers. In the case of only one tooth missing, it is not necessary to abrade the adjacent teeth to compensate for the missing tooth with a bridge but, rather, an implant is placed.

In the implant thread, we insert an abutment or a superstructure - made of titanium or zirconium. Depending on the patient’s choice, a metal ceramic or zircon ceramic crown is then placed on it.

Two or more implants can act as bridge carriers- Where there are no end teeth to serve as a bridge support, implants are the only solution to avoid a partial prosthesis.

Implantation procedure

The implantation procedure is completely painless because it is done under local anaesthesia.
After the implantation, it is necessary to wait 4-6 months so that the process of osteointegration can happen (the direct structural and functional connection between living bone and the surface of a load-bearing artificial implant). During this period, the implants are covered with the oral cavity mucosa and the patients do not have any foreign body feel or any discomfort in their mouth, as they have temporary teeth made for them.

After the expiration of this period, the implantologist puts healing caps on the implant. This helps to form the gums and the patient has to wear them for several days. After that, the prosthetist takes a mould print of the patient’s teeth and creates permanent prosthetics.

There are many advantages of dental implant placements over dental prostheses. You feel and use them just as your own teeth. Hence they provide you with maximum comfort.

If you already have a complete prosthesis that is unstable and makes chewing hard, dental implant placement can retrain the prosthesis on the implants and make it entirely stable. Such a stabilised prosthesis greatly increases feeding safety, your speech, and social contact.

Today, the efficiency of dental implants is unquestionable and the latest research show a success rate of over 95%.

By virtue of 20 years of experience of Dental Esthetic Center's implantology and prosthetic team, we can confirm the fact that dental implantation procedures are almost the perfect treatment of toothlessness (anodontia) and chewing system disorders.

The design and surface structure of implants have gone through many changes in the past years and have thus been greatly improved. With the correct indication and proper technological process of dental implant placement, success is guaranteed.
