IMPLANTOLOGY
Dental Esthetic Center applies the most advanced contemporary protocols in implantology and prosthodontic rehabilitation. We take special pride in the fact that this filed is in focus of specialization and research of many members of our multidisciplinary implantology team.
The quality of your life improves fundamentally once when you have teeth again, the ones you feel and that function as your natural teeth, rather than a removable dental prosthesis.
The implantation procedure is completely painless because it is done under local anaesthesia.
Implants durability
There are still disputes and different opinions on the potential risks and imperfection of dental implants.
We strongly disagree with these impressions and we want to highlight the scientifically and expertly proven fact and above all the "good news" that, compared to any other method of replacing lost teeth, dental implants still have the best prognosis in treating these conditions.
The durability of dental implants is almost equal to the durability of our natural teeth because implants behave very much like natural teeth. This makes the dental implant placement an absolutely justified process in increasing the quality of life.
Dental implant have a lifetime warranty provided by implant manafacturer.
Scientific and professional studies show that over 95% of dental implants last for more than ten years, many even longer than that. We can confirm this fact, based on our long and rich experience in Dental Esthetic Center.
A number of our patients still have their implants, for as long as even 20 years after application.
Detailed and accurate diagnostics, correct planning of the number and the placement of implants, and their proper pressure in an individual jaw are all important prerequisites for such longevity of dental implants.
Maintaining your oral health along with proper oral cavity hygiene and regular dentist check-ups with the professional cleaning of plaque and calculus, is equally important for dental implant longevity as well as the general health of your organism.
Smoking is a factor which significantly limits the durability of dental implants.
Limitations to application of dental implants Uncontrolled diabetes is one of the most serious systemic illnesses
One of relative limitations is a shortfall of bone tissue, or its unfavourable structure, because long-term toothlessness, leads to degradation and bone loss.
Also, large, developed maxillary sinuses (a hollow space, filled with air in the bones around the nose, on the upper jaw) and the proximity of the mandibular nerve in the lower jaw can also create certain problems during dental implanting.
In such cases, the current common procedure is the augmentation of the jaw bone, auto-transplantation of the bone on the jaws, and sinus lifting (lifting the bottom of the maxillary sinus).
These are techniques and interventions on jaw bones or maxillary sinus, uniquely developed for restoring and regenerating the lost bone. This way, we restore enough bone, in height and width, to fit the implant.
In some cases, we perform this as a special procedure before dental implant placement, sometimes concurrent with it, depending on the type and severity of the case..
Complications following the implant placement
Most common causes of complications after implant placement are inadequate dental hygiene, smoking and missing dental check-ups after implant placements. These complications are most commonly the inflammatory processes of implant and surrounding tissue infection (peri-implantitis). Periimplantitis is treatable, but in some cases it is not possible. Then the infected implant needs to be removed and implanted again after recovery.
Improper pressure of the implant and inadequate function of the chewing system can also lead to complications implant loss.
Implant rejection happens very rarely and it is most commonly caused by general poor condition of patient's health.
Diagnostics
Each and every implantation procedure is individual and requires careful planning and analysis carried out prior to the procedure itself.
A detailed medical history of the patient is taken, in Dental Estethic Center, prior to completing and placing dental implants, as well as conducting any other dental procedure. The patient is also acquainted with the possibilities of this type of treatment and possible risks. With fully informed patient's consent, we proceed to further diagnostics and treatment.
A detailed diagnostics and functional analysis of the patient’s chewing system are then performed. Also, the patient’s general health condition is checked.
Orthopantomogram
Along with the mandatory orthopan (ortopanthomogram - a complete jaw and teeth X-ray) and creation of the jaw model, we also perform other most advanced contemporary diagnostic procedures, such as:
CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography i.e. three-dimensional CT), Bone Density Analysis, Analysis of Diagnostic Models in Articulator, Force Application Calculation, and Condilography (diagnostics of the chewing joint, position and movements of the jaw and the chewing musculature activity).
CBCT image
Based on the performed diagnostic and functional analysis, we create an individual therapy plan for each patient in which we determine the sufficient number and the correct position of the implant in each jaw, which is the basis for the longevity of the implant. Then we proceed to the treatment.
No compromises in the number and position of implants should be made in relation to the diagnostics and functional analysis results. Otherwise, problems arise in terms of durability shortening or premature implant loss in most cases.
